We’re two friends with savvy and style who want to put the polish and poise back into everyday life.
We arrived at A Pair in Pearls after sharing many Saturday morning chats about the lack of social grace and common sense etiquette that we’d been experiencing in our city. We were shocked that so many well dressed, educated, and interesting people seemed to be clueless about how to function with the flair and fancy of yesteryear.
In the same breath, we know that times have changed since the days of June Cleaver. Life’s pace is insane. Believe me, neither of us get to everything we want to do in a day (we’re all guilty of taking the odd shortcut). But even though we’re busy we stand firm in our belief that some of our sloppiness as a society isn’t strictly due to having less time on our hands. Much of this stuff has simply fallen off the radar.
After many nights of brainstorming, we found that the advice we wanted to share could also result in people feeling better about themselves, and life in general. We thought that was an amazing combo. A Pair in Pearls was coined.
This is a site about reclaiming and lobbying for some of the traditional and formal elements that used to be great about things like party hosting and dressing up, bridal showers, dating, cooking, dining out, traveling, weddings, gift giving, letter writing and so much more. It’s about doing things with intent and effort - and not just going through the motions.
We’re leading the movement to put some of the refinement and politeness back into a normal day. To boot, we’ll connect you to some gorgeous products, events, locales and services… all in the name of pushing polish.
We invite you to browse our blog and send your comments for what kind of info you’re looking for. Check back often, please! We’re trying to grow.

I think this blog is right on track to what women need, just a touch of advice, guiding them in the right direction towards formal and traditional elements of etiquette.
I’m so happy to have found your website. It’s not often in this day and age that young woman are as polished and poised as you two. I find your blogs very interesting.
